MILTON, Mass. - The UMass Boston men's tennis team played its final non-conference match of the season Thursday, posting a 7-2 victory at Curry College at the Trent J. Scott Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons swept the three available doubles points, which saw seniors
Miguel Beltran and
Nandish Shah post a shutout win over Nick Bell and Lorenzo Russo at No. 1 to start things off. Beltran went on to beat Russo 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Shah blanked Bell at No. 2 singles.
Senior
Alexander Comerchero and junior
Rez Yuspi were also 2-0 on the day. Comerchero teamed with graduate
Jerome Rajan for an 8-4 No. 2 doubles win over Kevin Meade and Tim O'Brien, and went on to hand Meade a 6-0, 6-2 decision at No. 3 singles. Yuspi and sophomore
David Malone won an 8-1 decision at third doubles over David Monteiro and Grant Palmer before shutting out O'Brien at No. 4 singles.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Beacons will close out the regular season Saturday with a Little East Conference (LEC) match versus Salem State University that gets underway at noon. UMass Boston can clinch the No. 1 Seed in the LEC tournament with a win.
