BOSTON, Mass. – Having not played a season in nearly two years, the men's tennis team returned to the top of the Little East Conference mountain as they posted a perfect conference record for the 2022 regular season following an 8-1 win over Salem State University on senior day at the BC High Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
On senior day, the Beacons made quick work of their longtime conference rivals. UMB jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back after doubles.
With the win, the Beacons secured the program's fourth undefeated conference record and second since 2019. UMass Boston will host an Little East Conference Tournament semi-final match on Thursday at 12 p.m. at the Weymouth Club. The Beacons will face the winner of the #4 vs. #5 match, which will take place on Tuesday.
The lone Salem State win in singles play came in the first flight.
Nandish Shah and
Alexander Comerchero both went 6-0, 6-0 in their respective matches.
Pierre-Alexandre Fumat posted a perfect 7-0 record in singles play after a 6-0, 6-1 win at fifth flight.
Rez Yuspi sealed the win for the Beacons with a 6-3, 6-3 decision at sixth flight.
