BOSTON, Mass. – A gem from Kyle Schaefer along with a timely three-run seventh inning lifted Roger Williams University to a 5-2 win over baseball Monday evening at Monan Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Except for a Gianni Zarilli, Jr. solo home run in the fifth inning, Schaefer was nearly un-hittable in Monday's non-conference game. Through 7.2 innings, he struck out seven and walked just two batters, while only allowing the one hit.
Adam Harz picked-up the save after allowing the second Beacons run on two hits in over the final 1.1.
Jackson Snider got the start for the Beacons and had another solid outing going four complete allowing just one run, unearned, on two hits, while also striking out four.
The Beacons second run of the day, which cut the deficit to three came in the bottom of the ninth, when
Thomas Cue plated
Steve Brookwell on an RBI triple. Brookwell led off the inning with the first extra-base hit for the Beacons since the Zarrilli bomb over the left field wall.
