Women’s Tennis Drops Road Match at Endicott to Conclude 2021-22 Season

Box Score BEVERLY, Mass. - The UMass Boston women's tennis team fell on the road in a non-conference contest at Endicott College Wednesday, which was its final match of the 2021-22 campaign. The Beacons conclude the year with an overall record of 8-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
The Beacons top doubles pairing of sophomores Meagan Carney (Arlington, Mass.) and Lydia Chan (Quincy, Mass.) nearly pulled out a tightly contested match against the Gulls tandem of Shelby Henry and Ashley Keaveney, falling by a final of 8-6. After transitioning to singles play, Chan fell to Lejla Guster 7-5, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot, while Carney fell to Ripley Uyeda at No. 2 by scores of  6-1 and 6-0.
 
Freshman Elena Albano (Haverhill, Mass.) dropped the opening set at No. 2 singles to Shelby Henry 6-2 before pulling even with a 6-4 win in the second. Henry went on to take the third and deciding set in their matchup, 10-4.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
 
This was the final match on the Beacons' 2021-22 schedule. The 2022-23 slate will be announced later in the calendar year.
