WINCHESTER, Mass. - The UMass Boston men's tennis team posted a 7-0 non-conference victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology to open the spring portion of its 2021-22 schedule Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons swept the doubles matches and claimed each of the four singles matches that were able to be completed.
Senior
Alexander Comerchero (Brookline, Mass.) and freshman
Rudraksh Trivedi (Gujarat, India) teamed for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles over Pranav Marwaha and Harrison Maki before going on to win their respective singles matches. Comerchero was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over Marwaha at No. 3 singles, while Trivedi posted a shutout (6-0, 6-0) win over Maki at No. 4.
Junior
Rez Yuspi (Somerville, Mass.) was also 2-0 on the day. He teamed with graduate student
Jerome Rajan (India) for a 9-7 win at No. 3 singles over Owen Colon and Aidan Gordan and then dispatched Colon 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
The Beacons' top doubles pair of seniors
Miguel Beltran (Ashland, Mass.) and
Nandish Shah (Ahmedabad, India) were victorious over the Leopards tandem of Daniel Gallegos and Kevin Salomon, 8-3.

UMass Boston will travel to Endicott College Thursday for a 7 p.m. non-conference match at the Manchester Athletic Club in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass.
