HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons scored one point in doubles action at No. 2, as the team to senior
Alexander Comerchero (Brookline, Mass.) and Trivedi topped the Gulls tandem of graduate Daniel Rinkert and freshman Oliver Pope, 8-5. Trivedi went on to notch a 6-2, 6-0 win over Julian Richtarich at fourth singles for his second victory of the night. Comerchero fell in three sets to Rinkert, taking the first 6-3 before losing the seond 6-4 and the tiebreaker 10-8.
UMass Boston's third team point was accounted for at second singles, where senior
Nandish Shah (Ahmedabad, India) defeated Brennan Nick 6-2, 7-6 (4). Shah and fellow senior
Miguel Beltran (Ashland, Mass.) fell to Nick and Janith Madhok at No. 1 doubles earlier in the evening, 8-5.
