BRISTOL, R.I. – A five-run fourth inning lifted Roger Williams University to a 9-7 non-conference win over baseball Wednesday afternoon at Paolino Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Following the five-run inning, the Beacons tried to chip away at the deficit but were never able to regain their early lead. UMB made it a one-run affair in the top of the seventh, but a lone run in the bottom of the eighth was all the insurance they needed, as they continue their best start in program history.
Drew Metzdorf finished a double short of the cycle as he drove in three runs, while also crossing home plate three times.
Steve Brookwell and
Aidan Blake each posted a pair of hits. Brookwell, Blake, Kevin Careera and Ethan Carrera all recorded doubles, with Brookwell and Metzdorf also registering triples.
Tim Cianciolo was handed the loss after surrendering six runs, four earned, in four innings of work
