Spartans Power Past Women's Basketball

Keriann Farina finished with 11 points in the LEC loss

CASTLETON, Vt. – Ryleigh Coloutti's game-high 20 points carried Castleton University to a 53-32 Little East Conference win over women's basketball Wednesday evening at Glenbrook Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Along with Coloutti's team-leading performance, the Spartans held the Beacons to single digits in three of the four quarters. UMass Boston's best quarter was the fourth, when they recorded 10 points.

Keriann Farina (Arlington, Mass.) led UMass Boston with 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting.

Meg Dixon (Hanover, Mass.) finished one rebound and one point away from a double-double as she registered nine boards and nine points.

Sunny Green (Brewster, Mass.) led the Beacons with six assists and added seven points in the conference loss.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • On the night the Beacons shot 27.1% from the field, while Castleton shot 35.6%
  • Castleton outscored UMass Boston 30-14 through the first half, and 23-18 to in the second
  • The Beacons are now 2-4 all-time against Castleton University
  • UMB has not recorded a win on Castleton's home floor since the Spartans joined the LEC in 2018
