ATTLEBORO, Mass. – A pair of Soph Hamel goals in a 33 seconds span in the second period lifted Johnson and Wales University to a 3-2 New England Hockey Conference win over women's hockey Friday afternoon at New England Sports Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Hamel along with Reese Middendorf accounted for all three goals, with Middendorf scoring at the 5:42 mark of the third on the power play.
The Beacons, scored the first goal of the day with
Margeaux Butters (Snohomish, Wash.) finding the back of the net at the 6:17 mark of the opening period.
Liz Kramp (Farmington Hills, Mich.) cut the deficit to one with less than five minutes to play in the third.
Unfortunately the Beacons were unable to get the equalizer as JWU held on to pick-up the conference win.
Victoria Kennedy (Winthrop, Mass.) made 21 stops in the loss, while Sofia Tamayo picked-up the victory after registering 34 saves. She held the Beacons to the one goal in the first behind a 15 save performance.
