Keene State Downs Women's Basketball On Senior Day

Beacons honored seniors Meg Dixon and Sarah St. Surin



BOSTON, Mass. – Aryanna Murray scored a game-high 17 points to lead Keene State College to a 52-41 Little East Conference win over women's basketball Saturday afternoon in the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium on senior day.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Keene State used a 18 point second and a 20 point fourth quarter to earn the win and split the regular season series with the Beacons.

Murray was 5-for-12 from the field, which all five field goals coming from distance. Brianna Metellus was also dangerous from distance as went 3-for-7, to cap-off an 11 point day off the bench.

Vienna Monestime (Framingham, Mass.) was the lone Beacon to finish in double-figures as the forward recorded 12 points, while Meg Dixon (Hanover, Mass.) had a solid day of eight points, nine rebounds, and seven steals. Fellow senior Sarah St. Surin (Norwalk, Conn.) registered two blocked shots and three rebounds in her final home game as a Beacon.

The Beacons would hold a slim lead over the Owls through most of the first two quarters. Keene State did not get their first solid lead until final four minutes of the second. Metellus scored eight straight points to make it 21-20 in favor of KSC. Rylee Burgess and Murray would combine for four points to give Keene a 25-20 advantage heading into the break.

Keene State would control the scoreboard for the final two quarters to seal the victory.
