HOW IT HAPPENED

Green got her day started early in the first quarter, rattling off six points in the opening 10 minutes, but as a team the Beacons shot 19% from the floor and 1-for-15 from three-point territory, trailing 15-12 through one.

Finding their groove in the second, UMass Boston took an early lead, 17-15 on a three from Green before a back and forth 10 minutes would ensue. Trailing 22-20, the Beacons went on a 7-0 run to end the second quarter as graduate forward Meg Dixon and senior forward Paige Ollivierre made a pair of layups and then senior forward Keriann Farina sunk a buzzer beating three from half court to put UMass Boston ahead, 27-22, heading into the break.

Piggybacking off that 7-0 run, the Beacons began the third quarter with an 10-0 run, capping off a stretch through the two quarters of 17 consecutive points to take a 15-point lead, 37-22, before Colby-Sawyer would make a basket with 7:01 remaining in the third.

The Chargers would embark on a run of their own, starting with that three-point shot from sophomore forward Courtney Brewster en route to a 9-0 run that cut down the Beacon advantage to just six points, 37-31. In response, Farina and Ollivierre scored six consecutive points for UMass Boston to end the quarter, giving the Beacons a 12-point lead, 43-41, with 10 minutes to play.

Ahead by 10 points with 6:42 remaining in regulation, UMass Boston would put the dagger in the game with a 12-0 run led by Farina, Ollivierre, and a pair of baskets from freshman guard Sibayla Jensen to put away Colby-Sawyer for their second win of the season, 59-41.
