Women's Hockey Downed By Southern Maine

Huskies hand UMB a 4-0 conference loss

BOSTON, Mass. – A three goal third period sealed what would become a 4-0 New England Hockey Conference win for the University of Southern Maine over women's hockey Saturday afternoon at the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In a back-and-forth affair, the Huskies gained the advantage at the 7:48 mark of the second period with Madelyn McLeish breaking the scoreless draw. UMB would have their chances to score the equalizer but were held in-check heading into the second intermission.

The third period got off to a solid start for the Huskies as they made it a two-score affair 21 seconds into the final frame. They then tacked on some insurance just over two minutes later, with McLeish scoring her second of the day. With less than five minutes to play Amanda Crowley netted the fourth goal.

Victoria Kennedy made 30 stops in the loss, while Haley McKim improved to 2-4 with a 28 save performance.

BY THE NUMBERS
