Women's Hockey Blanks Salem State, 4-0

Cailey Kozich had two goals in the conference win


BOSTON, Mass. – A pair of Cailey Kozich goals lifted women's hockey to a 4-0 New England Hockey Conference over Salem State University Friday evening at Edward T. Barry Ice Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Kozich also had an assist to cap-off a three-point night for the senior forward.

The Pennsylvania native got the scoring started early for the Beacons as she netted her first goal of the night at the 3:31 mark. Just over three minutes later, Margeaux Butters got in on the scoring to make it a 2-0 game in just the first seven minutes of the contest.

Emma Webster netted her first goal of the campaign at 8:21 of the period to give the Beacons a comfortable lead. Webster, also had an assist on the Beacons first goal to record her first two point game of the season.

Kozich's second tally of the night came at the midway point of the second period, with Hannah MacDougall notching her second assist of the night on the final score.

Victoria Kennedy collected the shutout as she posted 27 stops, including 13 in the final period. Salem's Hanna Aveni made 32 saves in the conference loss.
