BOSTON, Mass. – Led by the duo of
McKayla Geraghty and
Dylan Wertzberger, volleyball finally broke into the win column in Little East Conference play as they shutout the Anchorwomen of Rhode Island College by the final of 3-0 Tuesday evening at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Two of the three sets were won by a slim margin, with the Beacons take a 25-23 victory in the first and a 27-25 win in the third. The second set was a breeze for the Beacons as they blew past the Anchorwomen in dominating fashion.
Geraghty, led all players with nine kills and had a hitting percentage of .389. Wertzberger was just as solid scoring seven kills on 16 attempts for a .375 hitting percentage.
Amelia Devlin quarterbacked the Beacons offense, and carried them to the crucial conference victory. The setter tallied 26 assists, and was dangerous from the base line scoring three of the Beacons 15 aces.
Toni Guerra closed out the match with a pair of impressive serves, as she led all players with four aces.
Ally Dean, and Devlin each put-up eight digs, while at the net the Beacons combined for one block solo and six block assists.

The Beacons will host Roger Williams University and Springfield College on Saturday in a tri-match. The Beacons will face RWU at 11 am, and Springfield at 3 pm. RWU and Springfield will face each other at 1 pm.
