HOW IT HAPPENED

Leidt was one of six different players to record a goal in Monday's non-conference contest. The Panthers, who were playing their first game in nearly a month, controlled the momentum from the opening face-off.

Beacons netminders Victoria Kennedy (Winthrop, Mass.) and Romy Thibeault (Dallas, Texas) had a busy afternoon as the duo faced a combined 32 shots on goal.

UMass Boston's offense did have a few solid chances in the loss, but were unable to get the puck past Caroline Silk and Elinor Keehn.

Rachael Burum (Marshfield, Mass.) led the Beacons with four of the team's 16 shots on goal.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Monday's game marked the collegiate debut for Thibeault
  • The Beacons and Panthers were both 0-for-2 on the power-play
  • Burum won a team-high nine face-offs
  • Middlebury is now 9-0-0 against the Beacons
  • The Panthers have not allowed a UMB goal since January 12, 2010 and have registered five straight shutouts since then
