BOSTON, Mass. – A 33-13 run over the final 12 minutes of the second half led men's basketball to a huge come-from-behind Little East Conference win as the Beacons defeated Eastern Connecticut State University by the final of 62-54 Saturday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Malik Lorquet (Sharon, Mass.) and
Emanuel Zayas (Hollywood, Fla.) each recorded a second half 10 points as the Beacons earned their third-straight win over the Warriors, which is the second longest win-streak for UMB against ECSU.
The Beacons, who trailed by just four at the break erased a double-digit ECSU lead with just over 12 minutes to play. Following a Thomas Close 3-pointer which made it 41-29, the Beacons offense came to life behind a strong performance from Lorquet.
UMB then went on a 9-0 run to cut the Warriors' lead to three. Lorquet made it a one-possession game after nailing a pair of free throws with just over nine minutes to play. Quinton Lott made it a four-point affair on a lay-up, but Zayas would counter with five straight points to make it a one-point affair.
Lott kept the Warriors ahead with two made free throws, but that would not matter as the Beacons went on a 10-2 surge to take a 55-48 lead with less than four minutes to play.
ECSU would threaten the Beacons late surge just one more time as they cut the deficit to two with 1:27 left on the clock.
A lay-up from
Charlie Mitchell (Boston, Mass.), and a blocked shot from Lorquet on the next ECSU possession sealed the victory for the Beacon. UMB would go a perfect 4-for-4 at the line to clinch the conference victory.
In the second half, UMB's bench combined for 12 of the team's 41 points, while the Beacons also converted 11 ECSU turnovers into 14 points.
