BOSTON, Mass. – Led by
Charles Mitchell (Boston, Mass.) men's basketball got back on the winning track as they downed the University of Southern Maine by the final of 70-51 Wednesday afternoon at Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mitchell, led all players behind his 7-for-14 performance, which included four 3-pointers.
Malik Lorquet (Sharon, Mass.) played another well-rounded game as he dropped in 16 points to go along with eight rebounds, two blocked shots, and three assists.
Stephen DiGregorio (Marlborough, Mass.) was the third Beacon to finish in double-figures as the freshman recorded 12 points.
The first half was a back-and-forth contest with neither team holding a solid lead over the other. Southern Maine's largest lead, seven points, was erased by the a strong offensive surge by the Beacons. They then posted a solid run in the final five minutes to take a 37-26 lead into the break.
The Beacons dominated in the paint and converted the 15 first half USM turnovers in 18 points. After the break, UMB would continue to roll offensively as they never let Southern Maine come within seven points of tying the score.
UMass Boston kept their lead in the double-figures for nearly all of the second half, as they shot over 41.6% from the field. DiGregorio paced the offense with eight of his 12 points.
