BEVERLY, Mass. – An early 2-0 deficit proved to much for volleyball to overcome as they dropped a non-conference match to Endicott College Wednesday evening at MacDonald Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The host Gulls jumped out to a commanding lead in the first set and never looked back as they handed the Beacons a 25-11 decision. UMB's offensive troubles continued in the second as they hit just .087 in the frame, while Endicott fired-off a match-high 12 kills to earn a 25-16 victory. In the crucial third set, UMB pushed back against Endicott and controlled the momentum for most of the set. However, a push by the Gulls at the midway point, made it a back-and-forth battle. Endicott would slip past the Beacons with a 25-23 win to seal the 3-0 decision.
Emilia Czapiewska (Saint Paul, Minn.) led the Beacons with 10 kills.
Aleks Qose (Athens, Greece) finished second with four put downs in the loss.
Carsen Komminsk (Worthington, Ohio) tallied 18 assists, while also leading the Beacons with three aces.
UMB struggled from the service line as they were charged with 17 service errors.
Alyssa Ruan (Quincy, Mass.) notched seven of the team's 19 digs.
