WALTHAM, Mass. – In a match-up between two of the top teams in New England, Brandeis University slipped past women's soccer with a lone goal in the 65
th minute to earn the 1-0 decision Wednesday afternoon at Gordon Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The lone goal for Brandeis came-off the foot of Makenna Hunt. Brandeis who dominated the match offensively, was held to the lone tally thanks to a strong defensive effort by the Beacons.
Maria Spylios (Leominster, Mass.) was busy for all 90 minutes as she faced a total of 30 shots from the opposition, with eight of those ending up on target.
The Beacons, who were without some key starters in the contest, registered four shots, with three ending up on goal.
Hannah Bassan made three saves to earn the shutout bid, while Spylios closed out the contest with seven stops.
