NORTON, Mass. – A pair of second half goals lifted Wheaton College past women's soccer as the Beacons dropped their first match of the 2021 season Monday afternoon at Mirrione Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite a 16-11 advantage in shots, 10-9 in shots on goal, the Beacons were unable to put a dent on the scoreboard for the first time all season.
Mary Jo Murphy (Worcester, Mass.) led the Beacons offense with three shots on goal.
The two teams were deadlocked at 0-0 through the first 45 minutes of play. Wheaton did not break the scoreless draw until the 51
st minute. The Lyons would then strike again three minutes later to secure the regional win.
Caroline Richards (Duxbury, Mass.) earned the start for the Beacons in goal and made five stops, before
Abby McCulloch (Weymouth, Mass.) closed out the match with a pair of saves.
