WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – In the first Little East Conference match of the 2021 season, volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision to Eastern Connecticut State University Friday evening at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In a match-up that featured the top two teams on the 2021 LEC Preseason Poll, the Beacons had to play their best match of the season, to top the hard-hitting Warriors.
Anna Barry led ECSU with a season-high .295 attack percentage to lift the Warriors to a 27-25 win in the first set, a 25-17 win in the second, and a 25-11 decision in the third.
Aleks Qose (Athens, Greece) carried the Beacons offense with 13 kills, while senior middle
Marcelle Tiscareno (El Paso, Texas) tallied eight kills and a team-high .333 hitting percentage.
Carsen Komminsk (Worthington, Ohio) finished with 24 assists and a team-high four aces.
Alyssa Ruan (Quincy, Mass.) was the lone Beacon to record double-digits in digs with 11.
Taryn Broughal (Branford, Conn.) had a solid night at the night registering one block solo and three block assists.
