BRISTOL, R.I. – In their final tri-match of the regular season volleyball was handed a pair of 3-1 losses by Roger Williams University and Springfield College Saturday afternoon at the RWU Campus Rec Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Emilia Czapiewska (Saint Paul, Minn.) continued her strong offensive performance as she registered 17 kills and a .343 hitting percentage in the loss to RWU.
Against the host Hawks, RWU would take a 2-0 lead following a 25-15 win in the first and a 25-18 win in the second. UMB bounced back in the third with a 25-21 win, but were handed a 25-16 win in the deciding fourth set.
Carsen Komminsk (Worthington, Ohio) finished with 33 assists and 10 digs for her first double-double.
Aleks Qose (Athens, Greece) led all Beacons with 14 digs and had six kills and a team-best three aces.
Marcelle Tiscareno (El Paso, Texas) notched nine kills and three block assists in the loss.
In their second match, against the Pride of Springfield College, the Beacons tried to rally after suffering a 25-11 loss in the first and a 25-17 loss in the second. UMB battled back and earned a hard fought 25-22 win in the third. The fourth set was a tight one, but it was the Pride who earned the win following the 25-18 decision.
Tiscareno dropped in a team-leading 10 kills and hit .350. Komminsk was once again consistent as she finished with 33 assists to go along with nine digs.
Alyssa Ruan (Quincy, Mass.) finished with 10 digs. Czapiewska finished with nine kills ending her 10 or more kill streak at five.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Komminsk moved into second all-time in program history following the matches on Saturday, passing Pepper Baker who finished her career with 1,862 assists
- Komminsk needs just 117 assists to become just the second player in program history to record 2,000 career assists. Cassy Hanneman remains the all-time program leader in career assists with 4,152
- The Beacons are now 1-5 against Springfield and 10-26 against Roger Williams all-time
