HOW IT HAPPENED

The Beacons broke the scoreless draw at the 13:34 mark of the first period with Chris Peters scoring his first of the season. Bailey Conger (Boise, Idaho), fresh-off a three-point showing in yesterday's win over UMass Dartmouth, assisted on the lone goal of the first period.

After the break, Curry would take their first lead of the contest, with both goal coming on special teams. Timmy Kent netted a power-play goal at the 5:21, while Mark Zhukov scored a shorthanded goal at the midway point to make it 2-1 in favor of the home team.

Ethan Nitkin (Miami Beach, Fla.) tied the game at 2-2 two minutes after Curry's second goal with Pat Keegan picking-up his first assist of the young season.

Unfortunately, Curry would score back-to-back goals over a six-minute span to take their 4-2 lead into the final period.

Conger cut the deficit to one with his third goal of the weekend, which was scored on the power-play. Curry pushed their lead back to two with a goal from Kalle Sundell at the 5:53 mark.

Connor McAnanama (Agawam, Mass.) made 18 stops and was handed the loss on Saturday. Sam Best (Woburn, Mass.) finished out the contest with 19 saves of-his-own. Reid Cooper earned the win for Curry with 22 stops
