BOSTON, Mass.—Eight different Beacons scored and UMass Boston's defense did not allow a shot on goal, in a dominant 8-0 non-conference victory over Marymount University (Va.) on Saturday night at James Cotter Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMass Boston stunned the visiting Saints with six first-half goals, including five in the opening 30:54.
Nilton de Andrade (Fogo, Cape Verde) led the Beacons with a goal and three assists in the victory.
Vangjel Gjergo (Korçë, Albania) opened the scoring 4:15 into the contest and it would be all Beacons from there.
Gerardo Castaneda (Providence, R.I.) made it 2-0 in the 17
th minute and de Andrade pushed the lead to 3-0 in the 24
th minute.
The Beacons ramped up their production with two more goals within a four-minute span.
Diego Gisholt (Newton, Mass.) and
Josh DeAlmeida (Revere, Mass.) scored at 27:27 and 30:54 respectively to make it 5-0.
UMass Boston closed out the first-half scoring with a
Ramsay JeanJuste (Boston, Mass.) strike at 40:39.
The Beacons kept their foot on the pedal with a
Denilson Goncalves (Fogo, Cape Verde) goal just 6:26 into the second half.
UMass Boston closed out the scoring in the 78
th minute. Sophomore
Luis Spinola (Brockton, Mass.) was taken down in the box for a penalty kick and senior
Yuran Teixeira (Praia, Cape Verde) stepped up and calmly finished for the Beacons.
Defensively, the Beacons back line of
Emelson Barbosa (Fogo, Cape Verde),
Estevao Gomes (Fogo, Cape Verde) and
Leo Herrera (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) totally shut down a Marymount team that came in averaging 2.2 goals and 16.7 shots per game.

- UMass Boston earned an 18-3 lead in shots, 14-0 advantage in shots on goal and 10-1 edge in corner kicks.
- Five players scored their first goals of the season with Gjergo, Gisholt and JeanJuste each scoring their first collegiate goals in the victory.
