Volleyball Rallies Past Keene State For Conference Win

Beacons picked-up the crucial 3-1 victory over the Owls



BOSTON, Mass. – In a crucial must-win match for volleyball the Beacons rallied after a first set loss to win the next three sets to earn a 3-1 Little East Conference victory over Keene State College Saturday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Following a 25-22 loss in the opening frame, volleyball powered past their longtime rivals with a 25-18 win in the second. They then registered back-to-back 25-20 wins to clinch the crucial victory.

Livia Trindade (Sao Luis, Maranhao, Brazil) played the best match of her Beacons career as she put down 10 kills, while hitting an impressive .625. Taryn Broughal (Branford, Conn.) also had an impressive match scoring eight kills to go along with a .667 clip.

Emilia Czapiewska (Saint Paul, Minn.) and Marcelle Tiscareno (El Paso, Texas) combined for 30 kills respectively. Aleks Qose (Athens, Greece) scored the final kill in Saturday's match to cap-off an eight kill performance for the junior hitter.

Playing perhaps the best match of her college career was Carsen Komminsk (Worthington, Ohio). Komminsk tallied 54 assists, and had three aces.

At the net the Beacons combined for seven solo blocks and four block assists, while Qose and Ally Dean led the back court with nine and eight digs respectively.

  • Czapiewska now needs 54 kills to become just the fifth player in program history to record 1,000 kills in a career
