Nilton de Andrade Named Third-Team All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—For the first time in his collegiate career, UMass Boston junior Nilton de Andrade (Fogo, Cape Verde) was named a United Soccer Coaches' (USC) All-American, the organization announced Thursday night at the NCAA Division III Final Four banquet. 

De Andrade was named a Third Team All-American. He is the third Beacon to be named a USC All-American and the fourth player in program history to be named an All-American overall. The red-shirt junior joins Carlos Fernandes ('96), Marcelo Cunha ('17) and Mohamed Kenawy ('16) as UMass Boston men's soccer All-Americans. 

De Andrade put together the most balanced season of his career; en-route to being named a Little East Conference and All-Region First Team honoree. 

In his first healthy season as a Beacon, de Andrade recorded a team-best 12 goals, eight assists and 32 points. He also finished tied for second on the team with three game-winning goals. He led all of Division III with 6.37 shots per game and ranked 12thwith his 2.74 shots on goal per contest. 

De Andrade started all 19 games for the Beacons and recorded at least one point in 12 contests. He scored goals in nine contests and posted multiple-goals two times. He posted a career-high nine points on September 10, when he scored three goals and added three assists in a 7-1 win over Emerson College. 

He became the third Beacon in program history to reach the 100-point mark on October 22. In the win over Framingham State University, de Andrade scored a pair of goals, to reach 100 career points on the dot.  

De Andrade will enter his senior season with 48 goals, 14 assists and 102 points in 57 career games.
