WINTER PARK, Fla. – After yesterday's tough match UMass Boston men's tennis bounced back in a big way as they claimed a 9-0 victory over Curry College to notch their first win of the 2012 campaign Tuesday afternoon at the Azalea Lane Tennis Courts.

Overall the Beacons dominated Tuesday's match from start to finish.  In doubles play David Hernandez (Bogota, Columbia) and Charles Lai (Boston, Mass.) cruised to an 8-0 victory at first flight.  That was then followed-up by a 8-1 win by Seth Shavers (Boston, Mass.) and Alex Loyer (Chelmsford, Mass.) and an 8-4 victory by Lyle Analetto (Belmont, Mass.) and Himanshu Dubey (Lucknow, India). 

In singles play, Hernandez notched his first singles win of the spring season with a 6-2, 6-0 decision over Tyler Collins.  Loyer recorded his second victory of the season with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Cameron Chamberlin.

Lai downed his Curry College opponent by the final of 6-1, 6-1 and Shavers made quick work of his non-conference opponent as he walked away with a 6-2. 6-0 win.

Analetto perhaps had the hardest fought win of the afternoon as he went into a tie-breaker before earning a 6-7 (1-7), 6-2 (10-7) victory.  Dubey closed out the win with a dominating 6-0, 6-1 victory over Eric Hellberg.

Men's tennis returns to action on Thursday when they face St. Mary College (N.Y.) at 9 a.m. at Star Island Resort in Kissimmee.
