DARTMOUTH, Mass. – In another tough Little East Conference match, the University of Massachusetts Boston women's tennis (2-4, 1-1 LEC) team was defeated by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (3-1, 2-0 LEC) by the final score of 7-2 Saturday afternoon at the Dartmouth Tennis Center.

In doubles play the team of Anitra Kloczewiak (Newton, MA) and MaKenna Arrigo (Yarmouth Port, MA) recorded a hard-fought 9-8 (7-2) victory at first flight.  Hieu Nguyen (Dorchester, MA) and Wendy Steinman (Dudley, MA) also played an extremely tough match, but were defeated by their UMass Dartmouth opponents.

Singles play saw the host Corsairs earn wins at first, second, third, and fourth singles.  Nguyen recorded the team's second victory of the afternoon in a super tie-breaker, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (10-6).  Even in those early matches, the Beacons never gave-up forcing a tie-breaker in the first flight, and an extremely close decision in the fourth.
