Weinstein is this week’s Beacon of the Week after a heroic debut between the pipes for UMass Boston women’s soccer. On Wednesday, she started the day as a member of the Beacons’ softball team — but just hours before kickoff, answered the call to fill a depleted goalkeeper core for Coach Zombeck. In her collegiate soccer debut, Weinstein made 15 saves in a brilliant effort against Brandeis before earning her first collegiate win with two saves in a 2-1 victory over LEC opponent VTSU Castleton.
