In a 1-0-1 week for the Beacons' women's ice hockey team, Margeaux Butters (Snohomish, Wash.) was instrumental in the Beacons' crucial play heading into the New England Hockey Conference Postseason. In Friday's 2-0 win over William Smith, Butters blocked three shots in a shutout victory, and tallied her first goal of the season, and an additional five blocked shots in Saturday's 1-1 draw. Butters anchors the Beacons' defense with a team high 66 blocked shots this season. Butters and the Beacons' defense has been one of the best within the conference on the penalty kill this season, ranking third with an 89.2% PK%. The Beacons host William Smith again on February 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the first round of the NEHC Postseason Tournament from the Edward T. Barry.
