Katie Hallahan was selected by the Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics and Recreation to serve as her Special Assistant in the summer of 2024.
Most recently, Hallahan was a Graduate Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her master’s degree while serving as the Graduate Assistant in NCAA Compliance and assisting in Athletic Event Management. During her time at UNC, she created educational resources for coaches and staff, conducted a time management and missed class audit, helped with the recruiting and athletic financial aid. In addition, she spent time with the senior-level leadership researching the impact of the transfer portal on UNC Athletics and trends in men's basketball selection criteria.
Hallahan also served as a Research and Analytics Intern with Collegiate Sports Associates Executive Search and Consulting. She supported and expanded the candidate database pools for executive searches, including NCAA Division I athletic directors and head coaches for football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and other Olympic sports. On the consulting side, she aggregated data and delivered insights to the leadership team and NCAA Division I institutions.
Hallahan was a student-athlete herself when she competed as a Division I rower during both her undergraduate and graduate school stops along her journey. This assists Katie in her role by understanding the necessary demands that come along with highly competitive collegiate sports programs from both the student-athlete and administrator's perspective.
