Eric Mathieu, Esq. joined UMass Boston Athletics as the Deputy Athletic Director for Athletics Development and Revenue Generation in March 2026. Mathieu leads the department’s fundraising, corporate partnership, and revenue-generation efforts. In this role, he oversees athletics development initiatives including the Beacon Club Annual Fund, major gifts, Giving Day campaigns, alumni engagement efforts, and signature fundraising events, while also advancing corporate sponsorships and strategic partnerships that support the growth of UMass Boston Athletics.
Mathieu brings a multidisciplinary background in athletics leadership, philanthropy, and legal affairs. Prior to joining UMass Boston, he served as Director of Development, Signature Events at the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. He also previously held leadership roles with the Premier Lacrosse League, including Director of PLL Assists & Legal Associate, overseeing charitable initiatives, partnership development, and diversity and inclusion programming.
Mathieu earned his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law, a Master of Education from the University of Hawai‘i, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Bates College.
