UMass Boston

Since 1996, Ed Perkins has served as the Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Massachusetts Boston.  During that time, Perkins has helped countless student-athletes compete at their highest levels, while also serving on a variety of different organizations on campus.

After graduating from UMass Boston in 1991, Perkins spent one year as an Athletic Training Intern with the New England Patriots.  From there he traveled west to work at Temple University, where he also earned his Master’s Degree in Physical Education. 

In 1994 he returned to New England to work at MIT in Cambridge, before joining the training staff at Bridgewater State College in 1995.  After one year at Bridgewater, Perkins returned to his alma mater, where he took over as the head athletic trainer.  In the spring of 2004 Perkins began teaching his Prevention and Care of Sports Injuries class, which he continues to do to this day. 

During his distinguished career, Perkins has earned numerous certificates and is a member of multiple Athletic Training organizations.
