Jovan Jordan-Whitter

Jovan Jordan-Whitter joined the UMass Boston coaching staff for his second season in the fall of 2022. He was named Interim Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Tennis programs in January 2023 after playing a big role in helping Women's Tennis to their first Little East Conference Championship in program history in fall 2022. 
 
Jordan-Whitter played one season for the Beacons, before going on to have an impressive playing and coaching career. 
 
In his lone season with the Beacons in 2008, he played at number one singles and doubles and was named the Team MVP. He finished a team-best 14-2 in singles and 8-5 in doubles action to help the Beacons finish third in the Little East Conference Tournament. 
 
Outside of UMass Boston, Jordan-Whitter played for his home nation of Bermuda in the Davis Cup from 2002-05 and again in 2017. He earned a Bronze Medal at the 2017 Island Games as a player. 
 
Jordan-Whitter has also put together an impressive coaching resume. 
 
He has served as the head coach of Bermuda’s Men’s and Women’s National Tennis Teams for the Island Games. From 2016-19, Jordan-Whitter was the head coach of the Men’s Team. He was also appointed the head coach of the Women’s Team for both the Island Games and the Fed Cup during the 2018-19 campaigns. 
 
Outside of his work with the national teams, he has also served as a tennis coach at the Rosewood Tucker’s Point Club (2014-16) and the High Performance Tennis Director of Manders Tennis Management (2016-2021).
