UMass Boston

Pat O’Malley enters his first season with the UMass Boston cross country and track and field programs. He will be responsible for the men’s and women’s distance crews.

A graduate of the University of Maine, O’Malley earned many accolades in both cross country and track and field. He garnered multiple All-America East, All-New England, All-Eastern and All-North Atlantic Conference honors. He held the America East and Maine State Collegiate 10,000-meter records for over 20 years.

O’Malley has spent the majority of his career in the athletic footwear industry working for iconic brands Nike, Reebok and Saucony. He worked in a variety of areas such as sports marketing, marketing and product development. He oversaw the development of some of the most iconic running shoes and track spikes over the last 20 years. He most recently served as President of the Saucony Brand.

O’Malley graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor’s in Finance as well as an MBA.
