Men's soccer alum Marcelo Cunha ('18) returns for his sixth season as an assistant coach in 2024. 

Cunha returns to his alma mater after putting together one of the most impressive careers in program history. The converted center back set the program record for games (82) and minutes played (6,331) and set a new program record with 78 consecutive starts. He became the second player in program history to be named an All-American as a junior, when he was named a Second Team United Soccer Coaches’ (USC) All-American. He also was named to the USC All-Region First Team as a junior and senior and became only the third player in program history to be named to the Little East Conference Team on three occasions. 

During the course of his career, Cunha scored six goals and added two assists in 82 contests. He helped anchor the Beacons to three-straight LEC Tournament Championships (2014-2016) and two LEC Regular Season Titles (2014 and 2016). 

Since graduating, Cunha has worked as a head coach at Classics Elite Soccer Academy in San Antonio, Texas and at local clubs Real Boston FC and Valeo FC.
