Men's soccer alum Estive Sosa ('16) returns for his eighth season as an assistant coach in 2025.

The former men's soccer goalkeeper served as an assistant coach in 2016 and returned to the staff before the 2019 campaign.

Sosa, who started his career at Bunker Hill, played two years as a goalie with the Beacons in 2014 and 2015. In his UMass Boston career, Sosa finished 7-3 with a 1.36 goals against average and a .650 save percentage in 14 appearances. He was a part of five shutouts during his two seasons as a Beacon and helped the team win the programs' first-ever Little East Conference Regular Season (2014) and Tournament Titles (2014 and 2015).

After graduating, Sosa became a member of the men's soccer coaching staff and worked as an assistant with the men's program in 2016 and 2018-2021. He primarily worked with the team's goalkeepers and helped the team set new records for fewest goals allowed in 2016 (16) and 2019 (12). During the three seasons he was on staff for, UMass Boston won an LEC Regular Season and Tournament Title and made it to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

In 2019, Sosa also helped out with the women's soccer program and helped the Beacons win their second LEC Tournament Title in program history.

Sosa took over as the head coach of Bunker Hill Community College men's soccer in May of 2021. He played his first two seasons with the Bulldogs, before transferring to UMass Boston. The Bulldogs are a powerhourse at the NJCAA level. They made it to the 2015 NJCAA National Tournament Championship Game and reached the NJCAA Final Four during Sosa's freshman year in 2012. The program has reached at least the quarter final round six times since 2010 and won the NJCAA Region 21 Championship seven times during that span.
