Shawn Pauly returns for his third season with the Beacons coaching staff in 2021-22. 

In his first season with the program in 2019-20, Pauly served as head coach Peter Belisle's lead assistant and helped the team post a 14-11-1 record. 

Pauly joined the Beacons after playing professionally for the past three years. He started his professional career playing with the Kansas City Mavericks of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). In two seasons with the Mavericks, he recorded 30 goals and 25 assists in 122 contests. 

During the 2018-19 seasons, Pauly went abroad to play and study in Coventry, England. He played center for the Coventry Blaze (professional team in the British Elite Ice Hockey League), while taking classes for his Master's of Business Administration. Pauly recorded 22 goals, 26 assists and 48 games in 56 contests. 

He played his collegiate hockey at the University of Connecticut from 2012-2016. He recorded at least 20 points in all four seasons and served as an assistant captain during his senior season. Pauly finished his career with 28 goals, 55 assists and 83 points in 140 contests. During his playing career, he was named to the All-Conference, All-Academic Team all four years.  

Since graduating, Pauly has also worked as a Program Director with the Elite Hockey Facility in East Alton, Illinois. He lead all of the strength programs at the facility, as well as providing private lessons and working in all the of the day to day operations of the facility. 

He graduated UConn with his Bachelor's in Accounting in 2016. He is currently working on his Master's in Accounting at UConn.
