UMass Boston

Garrett Callaghan

Garrett Callaghan enters his second year coaching with UMass Boston, where his primary responsibility is to work with the hitters and outfielders. He also works as the recruiting coordinator for the Beacons.

In his first season, the Beacons saw great offensive success, where they led the LEC in runs per game and increased their on base and slugging percentage from the year prior.

Before coaching, Callaghan played 5 years at Ithaca College, where he slashed a career .368. He has multiple appearances in the Ithaca record books, listed in the top 10 all time in doubles, home runs, slugging percentage and RBIs. In his final season in 2023, he was named an ABCA 2nd Team All-American, Ithaca’s highest honor since 2013.

Callaghan spent the 2022 season at Rutgers, where he hit .262 for the number one scoring offense in Division I and helped the Scarlet Knights reach the Big Ten Championship Game for the first time in program history.

Prior to moving to the Boston area, Callaghan spent time coaching for New Jersey based travel team Baseball U, and Zoned Sports.
