Unless otherwise noted, assigned locker rooms are designated for in-season use only. When available, locker rooms may also be used for preseason and/or captains’ practices. This availability is determined by the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities. 

Locker rooms for commuter athletes and non-traditional teams are available for daily use. However, athletes must remove their belongings each day and vacate the space when needed for visiting teams. 

All locker rooms must be cleared within 48 hours of the conclusion of a team’s season, unless otherwise directed by the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities. For Cross Country and Track & Field, locker rooms must be cleared within 48 hours after the conclusion of the athlete’s outdoor season.  

Access to Team Areas during Competition  

Access to designated team areas—sideline, bench, dugouts, locker rooms-- during athletic competition is restricted to essential personnel.  Essential personnel include  

• Coaching staff  

• Team  

• Medical personnel  

• Sport administrator  

• VCAR    

• Sports information and game management staff can access these areas only as necessitated by their position's responsibilities.  Any individual (including family members, alumni, other University or department personnel) not meeting the above criteria must have prior approval from the VCAR.
