Business Office Component of Fundraising

See Development section of manual

Please provide all expenses that will be incurred for a special event fundraiser

Example:

1) Golf tournament fundraiser expenses, such as greens fees, a polo shirt, hat for golfers, etc.  Basically, anything you buy to give to the golfer needs to be itemized for University Advancement per usual

2) In this example, if the golfer registration is $250 the following would be true:

Registration - $250

Greens fees - $100
Polo shirt - $30
Hat - $10
Food - $25
Total expense per golf would be $165.

The non charitable amount is $165

The charitable amount would be what is left after paying expenses.

$250 - $165 = $85

The Assistant Athletic Director for Development can assist with event financial processes that have a charitable component to them.

The University recently purchased Transact-an ecommerce software for non-gift revenue. Coaches may use this to collect registration fees for clinics. It can also be used for events where there may be invited paid guests so long as there is no gift component. Events with gift components are still set up through Advancement. Transact may not be used for merchandise sales.

Please contact the Business and Operations Manager if interested in using Transact.
