Operations Manual - Equipment Room

Team Issued Athletic Gear, Uniforms, and Equipment   

  1. Athletes are responsible for all items of equipment issued by the equipment manager and/or the coaching staff of his or her sport.  This responsibility extends to items that are lost on trips or while being laundered.  

  1. Each athlete shall be provided with the appropriate equipment and uniform for the sport in which he/she will be participating.  Competition uniforms issued to an athlete are to be worn only while participating in sports events and while traveling to and from sports events.   

  1. Each athlete shall be responsible for the return of uniform items issued to him/her throughout the season.     

  1. An athlete will be subjected to be billed for articles lost or ruined during the season or be subjected to have a hold placed on their account until return of missing items.   

General Issued Gear  

  1. All athletes will receive general issued gear at the commencement of the traditional season. General issued gear includes a pair of shorts, a tee-shirt, joggers, and a sweatshirt. Joggers and sweatshirts are distributed every other year to athletes.   

  1. Distribution of gear is coordinated with each team’s head coach.   

  1. Each student athlete will receive an email from the equipment coordinator to verify sizing requests via ARMS.  

  1. Included with general issued gear is a laundry pin/loop. The pin/loop number will belong to the athlete throughout the season and must be returned after completion. Failure to return the pin/loop will result in a hold on the student athlete’s account.  

  1. Prior to each event or practice, the equipment manager will issue uniforms directly to athletes or through the coaching staff.  And following each event or practice each uniform should be immediately turned back into the equipment manager for laundering.  Athletes and coaches should not attempt to launder game uniforms unless prior approval is given by the equipment manager.  

 Hours of operation. 
  1. Equipment room student workers will have doors open 11 a.m.  – 5  p.m. Monday –Friday or upon completion of daily team practices.   

  1. All items dropped in the chute or placed in team bin at the appropriate time will be returned to the athlete in time for practice or game.  

  1. Laundry operations- All clothing needed for athletic competitions can be put on pins/loops.   

  1. UNIFORMS DO NOT GO ON PINS/LOOPS.  

  1. Turnaround time for washing pins is 24 hours. (Unless told otherwise by equipment room staff.)  

  • Items that are dropped off late are subjected to not being washed*  

  1. Athletes may drop off pins/loops via laundry chute located in the top right-hand corner adjacent to the equipment room window.  

  1. If agreed upon by the coach and equipment room staff, a bin can be placed in a team's locker room.   

  • It is the team’s responsibility to bring the bin to the equipment room following practice or game. The bin will then be placed back in the locker room by the equipment room staff first thing in the morning with washed pins/loops.
