2014-15 Wrapped up his career with his best season to date as the Beacons’ number one defenseman … Named to the ECAC East Second Team All-Conference Team for the first time in his career … Served as an assistant captain … Played in all 27 contests … Ended his career having played in 111 games between Northeastern and UMass Boston … Finished second on the Beacons and tied for fifth amongst ECAC East defenseman with 15 points … Tied for fourth in the ECAC East amongst blue liners with 14 assists … Ranked second on the Beacons with his +26 +/- rating … Led the Beacons with his 17 penalties and 42 penalty minutes … Registered one power-play goal … UMass Boston finished 11-0-0 in games in which he recorded at least one point … Opened the season with two assists and a +3 +/- rating in a 15-3 win over UMass Dartmouth … Tacked on two more assists in a 6-2 win over Wesleyan on November 29 … Recorded his lone goal of the season January 31, with a game-tying power-play goal with 2:16 left in regulation, in the Beacons 4-3 win over host Castleton State … Registered an assist on the game-tying goal in UMass Boston’s 4-3 Senior Day win over #1 Norwich University.

2013-14 Served as a leader along the blue line and a huge threat on the power-play in his first season as a Beacon … Finished the year as one of two defenseman to play in all 27 contests … Ended the year second amongst all defenseman with eight assists and 11 points … Found the back of the net twice on the power-play … Led the Beacons with 66 penalty minutes on a team-high 25 penalties … Helped UMass Boston finished tied for 18^th in the nation with a 2.41 goals against average … Picked up at least one point in 10 contests … Recorded an assist November 2 in his debut as a Beacon against UMass Dartmouth … Scored a power-play goal November 22 at Castleton State … Recorded a season-high two points (2 A) January 4 in the Beacons’ Codfish Bowl opening win over Suffolk. 

2011-13 (Northeastern U.) Played a combined 57 games during his two seasons with the Huskies ... Tallied two goals and three assists ... Ended his sophomore season having seen ice time in 28 contests.

PERSONAL/HIGH SCHOOL Played for the Philadelphia Revolution of the Eastern Junior Hockey League … Graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, Mass. in 2009 … Was also a member of the baseball team while at Catholic Memorial … Son of Dave and Mary Cornell … Has two sisters, Carolyn and Bridget … Currently majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology.
