MILTON, Mass. (Oct. 5, 2026) – The UMass Boston Beacons women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Salve Regina Seahawks in a non-conference match on Monday at the Milton Academy Tennis Courts.
UMass Boston is 5-3 on the season, while Salve Regina is 3-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The duo of
Zainab Patel (Ahmedabad, India) and
Tatiana Malone (South Dennis, Mass.) rolled to a 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles, but the Seahawks captured the other two doubles matches to take the early lead.
Patel added a 6-2, 6-0 win over Stef Davis in No. 1 singles.
Elsewhere for the Beacons,
Mila Pipkin (Bradenton, Fla.) dropped a tough 6-3, 6-3 decision at third singles and
Karina Khalsa (South Yarmouth, Mass.) fought hard in a 6-0, 4-6, 3-6 setback against Amanda Quinn in sixth singles.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
Patel has won seven of her first eight singles matches to begin the season.
This marked the first match between the two programs since Apr. 2, 2017.

The Beacons will return to Little East action on Wednesday at Vermont State Castleton with first serve set for 4 p.m.
