PLYMOUTH, MICH. (July 14, 2025) – Former UMass Boston men's ice hockey Operations Manager and recent graduate of the Sport Leadership and Administration Program Emilie Pelletier has been named the 15th Brendan Burke Intern, as announced by USA Hockey.
The prestigious Brendan Burke Internship is a 10-month program designed for recent college graduates pursuing careers in hockey operations; named for the late Brendan Burke who was a student assistant for Miami University's men's ice hockey team, and son of Brian Burke, general manager of the 2010 US Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from UMass Boston in the spring of 2025.
"I am so excited and proud to be joining USA Hockey and the NTDP. I am so grateful to Coach Pete for his mentorship and support the last few years, and to the men's hockey team for giving me the opportunity to work with them" added Pelletier.
UMass Boston men's ice hockey Head Coach Peter Belisle also added, "We are so happy for Emilie, her hard work has truly paid off!. She has been instrumental in revamping the hockey operations position here at UMass Boston and taking it to another level. I have no doubt she will be excellent for USA Hockey and be in the NHL someday!"
Pelletier will officially begin her new role with USA Hockey and the National Development Team Program on July 28th.
UMass Boston Athletics congratulates Emilie on this outstanding achievement and wishes her the very best as she takes this exciting next step in her professional journey.
