Salem, MA (Apr. 19, 2025) --- The UMass Boston men's tennis team took down the Vikings of Salem State 6-3 in LEC action Saturday afternoon to improve to 3-1 in conference play. 

Doubles Recap 

The Beacons found themselves trailing 2-1 after doubles competition. 

• At No. 1 doubles, Dominik Dwyer and Victor Xu fell 8-5 to Salem State's Quentin Wilkins and Mark Wood. 

• In the No. 2 spot, Maxwell Dill and Shrenith Saravana Rakshana dropped their match 8-4. 

• UMass Boston earned its lone doubles victory at No. 3, where Joseph Malone and James Tiger Li cruised to an 8-1 win over Michael Muttiah and Josh Gruber. 

Singles Recap 

UMass Boston turned the tide in singles, winning five of the six matches to secure the team victory. 

• At No. 2 singles, Victor Xu came out on top in the day's most competitive match, defeating Mark Wood 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 in a third-set tiebreaker. 

• Maxwell Dill was dominant at No. 3, blanking Lachlan Hall 6-0, 6-0. 

• Tiger Li earned a gritty 7-5, 6-4 win over Josh Gruber at No. 4. 

• Joseph Malone swept Kevin Merino-Rivas 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5. 

• Shrenith Saravana Rakshana capped off the win with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Michael Muttiah at No. 6.
