Boston, MA (Feb 5, 2025) --- The UMass Boston men's ice hockey team returns home to the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink for two games against the Babson College Beavers.

Series History
In their most recent meeting, the Beacons fell in a narrow 2-1 contest. Their last victory over Babson came on Jan. 21, 2023, when they defeated the No. 12 nationally ranked Beavers 3-1. Senior defenseman Kolye Bankauskas (Coventry, R.I.) led the way in that win, scoring twice.
Beacons
- The Beacons were off last weekend, but in their previous series against Castleton, they secured back-to-back wins. In Game 1, they earned a shootout victory following a 5-5 tie in regulation. They completed the sweep with a thrilling 5-4 win the next day. Sophomore forward Jack Ford (Middletown, Del.) led the way with three goals over the two games.
- Senior defenseman Michael Krupinski (Dallas, Tex.) was named NEHC Co-Player of the Week after a standout performance in the Beacons' sweep of Castleton. He assisted on four of the team's five goals in the first game and followed up by scoring both a game-tying and go-ahead goal in the second, the latter coming in the final 10 seconds.
- Junior forward Jazz Kristov (Santa Clarita, Calif.) leads the team in goals with 9, his last three coming in a hat trick performance vs Salve Regina on January 3rd. Junior forward Jude Kurtas (Hillsborough, N.J.) leads the team with 10 assists, most recently recording one against Castleton.
Beavers
- The Beavers have won six of their last 10 matchups. Their last game was on Feb. 1, a 3-1 loss to Norwich.
- Junior Nate Mueller was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Goalie of the Week this past Monday. In a 2-1 win over Norwich, Mueller made 29 saves in hisonly start of the weekend, stopping the final 24 shots he faced. On the season, he boasts a .923 save percentage.
- Junior forward Brenden Kennedy and Senior forward Wyatt George share the team lead with 16 points.
