Boston, MA (Feb. 21, 2025) --- UMass Boston women's ice hockey heads into the NEHC playoffs with 31 points holding the 4th seed in the standings. They will host the 5th seeded Herons on Saturday night for a single elimination match.

Series History 

Saturday's meeting will be the third time these two teams have faced off this season with all three games coming consecutively. The Beacons took the first meeting 2-0 thanks to a 32 save shutout performance by Leah Bosch and goals from Emily Hansen and Gianna Skrelja. The second meeting ended in a draw with the Herons winning the shootout. 

Beacons  

• The last time the Beacons won an NEHC Quarterfinal game was in 2019 when they defeated Suffolk University 2-1, Ryan Kelsey scored both goals for the Beacons with the game-winner coming off an assist from Katie Leffler. 

• Gianna Skrelja was selected to Third Team All-Conference as announced by the league Thursday. Skrelja leads the team in points with 11 through her 24 games played. Two of Skrelja's five goals of the season came in the last three games. In addition to her five goals, Skrelja has contributed 6 helpers with her most recent coming against William Smith on February 14th. 

• Leah Bosch is tied with Amanda Boucher for most career shutouts for a Beacon. 

• Margeaux Butters leads the team in blocked shots with 66. 

• Cassidy Morrison leads the Beacons in goals with 6. 

Herons 

• Kayla Ketchbaw leads the Herons in points with 15 and assists with 10. Her 5 goals are good for second on the team with Bella Hacker. 

• Mackenzie O'Neil leads the team in goals with 6 on the season and is second in points with 12. 

• Erin Murray has seen the majority of time in net and holds a .947 save percentage along with a 1.36 goals-against average.
