Boston, MA (Feb. 13, 2025) --- The UMass Boston men's ice hockey team is guaranteed four more games in their 2024-25 season and will be looking for some positive results to propel them into post season play. Their first challenge will take place this weekend when the Beacons (currently in ninth place in NEHC standings) travel to New Haven, Connecticut to take on the seventh place Falcons of Albertus Magnus for two.

Beacons

  • The Beacons are coming off two losses to 2nd seeded Babson College last weekend. In game two, the Beacons held the lead for the majority of the game thanks to goals by Kolye Bankauskas and Michael Krupinski, but a late rally by the Beavers saw the home team on the wrong side of a 4-2 result.

  • Jazz Krivtsov leads the Beacons in points with 18 on the season, trailed closely by Jack Mortson (8 Goals, 9 Assists, 17 Points), and Bankauskas (9 goals, 7 Assists, 16 Points).

  • Bankauskas has scored a goal in the last three games the Beacons have played and has registered an assist in two of those three games. Bankauskas leads the team in points in conference games with 14 (9 Goals, 5 Assists) performing big when it matters most.

  • Michael Krupinski has been named as a semifinalist for the 24th annual Joe Concannon Award presented to the best American-born player at the D-II/III level in New England. This season Krupinski has 2 goals, 10 assists (2nd on the team behind Jude Kurtas), and 26 blocked shots (3rd on the team).

  • Tyler Bost has started in all 20 games recording a .908 save percentage and 3.19 GAA.

Falcons

  • The Falcons have lost their last three games, losing the series to Skidmore (both games by a 4-1 margin) and their most recent meeting against No. 1 Hobart. However, the Falcons last win came on January 31st when they upset the number one ranked team by a 3-2 score in overtime, handing the Statesmen their first loss of the season. In that game, Zane Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) scored the game-winning goal over the back-to-back Division III National Champions.

Other Games to Watch

  • Elmira College is currently the team sitting between Albertus Magnus and UMass Boston in the NEHC standings. The Soaring Eagles will take on Norwich (sitting in 4th place) this weekend before finishing their season against Castleton (10th place). After the Beacons, Albertus Magnus will finish their season against New England College – 6th place. The full standing can be found here
