Churchill, Bee Named to 2025 LEC Cross Country Sportsmanship Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (November 6, 2025) – Following the conclusion of the 2025 Little East Conference Cross Country season at the LEC Championships in Keene, N.H., the conference announced its final round of postseason awards. UMass Boston was represented by two student-athletes, as sophomore Abigail Churchill (Attleboro, Mass.) and first-year Martin Bee were each named to the 2025 LEC All-Sportsmanship Team, closing out a productive fall campaign for the Beacons.

Churchill was one of nine student-athletes honored on the women's side, earning the first postseason recognition of her career. She finished 55th overall at the LEC Championships while setting a new personal record of 27:39.10 over the 6-kilometer course — a strong finish to her sophomore season.

On the men's side, Bee was one of nine student-athletes selected to the sportsmanship team. The first-year standout finished third among UMass Boston runners at the conference meet, completing the 8-kilometer course in 29:31.70 — a personal record by nearly 30 seconds.

Select finishers from the LEC Championships will continue their seasons at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship in Hopkinton, N.H., on November 15. Churchill, Bee, and the remainder of the Beacons' cross country squad will transition their training toward the upcoming 2025–26 indoor track and field season, with the schedule to be announced soon.
